How to Write SEO Content
The team here at Clarity Content want to help as many businesses as possible rank highly in the search engines. We firmly believe from the research we have carried out and from the results, our clients have achieved, that writing SEO focused content on a regular basis is one of the best ways to rank well in Google and the other search engines.
This inspired us to produce our ‘how to write SEO content‘ guide, which we hope you find useful.
Step 1 – Keyword Research
What you want to do first is understand the appropriate keywords and phrases that relate to your business and people search to find companies such as yourselves. For example, if you are an accountant in Norwich, you will want to appear on page 1 when people search for ‘accountants in Norwich’ or perhaps ‘Norfolk accountants’, to name a couple. Understanding the keywords and phrases from the outset is critical.
Step 2 – Prepare
Now you have the keywords and key phrases, you will have the perfect titles for each individual blog and article you want to write for your website. Again, if a keyphrase is ‘accountants in Norwich’, then why not write a blog entitled ‘The Best Accountants in Norwich’ or ‘Find Accountants in Norfolk’. The writing of SEO content needs to be continual to be successful, so having a list of article titles to write about will help for inspiration each week.
Step 3 – Write
Keep the content engaging and informative whilst also not forgetting to mention the keyword or keyphrase you are targeting. However, don’t keyword stuff your content. Mentioning it once or twice in a 300-word article is perfect.
Step 4 – Hyperlink
Don’t forget to hyperlink the keyword or phrase you are writing about to the relevant landing page on your website. *TOP TIP* do not link every article back to your home page, mix it up to have an even spread from each article to different pages throughout your website.
Step 5 – Publish
Once you have written your SEO content, it is time to publish it on your website within your blog or articles section so Google and the other search engines can index it.
Step 6 – Repeat
We recommend writing one SEO blog or article for your website per week around different keywords and phrases you want to appear on page 1 for.
