There are many ways in which you can improve user engagement on your website. You will have seen our posts about the importance of quality optimised content but there are additional things you can do to boost your site. Below are a few ideas, besides quality content, to get you started:-
Inspect Your Analytics
Website analytics are a secret weapon that few utilise to their full potential, they provide you with insight you won’t find elsewhere such as where your visitors are coming from and the way in which they are interacting with your website. Google Analytics can also provide you with the keywords that users are ‘Googling’ to get to your site, this gives you an insight to be able to then create engaging and optimised content about those specific topics.
Don’t Ignore Blog Comments
Blog comments can be extremely helpful, it is important not to ignore them whether the response is good or bad.
Comments provide you with a great insight into the readers’ response to the content you have written. Such responses may include positive or negative feedback on the clarity and substance of your blog, questions the reader would like a response to, areas they would like you to expand on etc. Note the feedback down, this provides great inspiration to help you come up with post ideas that you know your readers are interested in.
If your readers actually take time out of their busy day to highlight an issue they are having, it is important you listen to them. The feedback again can give you an insight into a challenge they, and potentially other users, are facing. Most importantly, do not get into an argument with your readers – all feedback is important whether you want to hear it or not.
Overhaul Your FAQs Page
It is easy to engage with your readers by addressing their frequently asked questions not only in your blog posts but by overhauling your FAQs pages to include these important questions and answers. This shows readers that you have considered their comments to your blogs and as an added bonus also helps other readers with similar questions. Not to mention that it will keep your FAQs page fresh and engaging.
Use Social Media
Social media channels are arguably the best place to source inspiration as well as entice potential readers to your website. By now you will be investing a lot of time in creating quality content so it is the perfect time to promote your hard work. Posting on social media will attract readers that may not have found you by search engine results.
The above is not an exhaustive list but we do hope here at Clarity Content, that we have given you some food for thought. For more information as to how you can improve user engagement of your website, contact us today.
